On March 10, members of NLandes – Peruvian-Dutch Chamber of Commerce participated in a working lunch at the Netherlands residence with the “Ambassador for a Day,” Ms. CAMILA GIORDANNA PORTUGAL GARCIA, on RBC (Responsible Business Conduct) and gender issues.
During the day, Camila fulfilled her duties as Ambassador, with a program of technical and social activities aimed at introducing young women to diplomacy. The program seeks to promote the inclusion of women in various fields of work and in society in general, contribute to their empowerment, and foster their leadership by providing them with greater tools for their full development.
The Ambassador for a Day prepared a special message for our community:
“In a constantly evolving world, the business sector not only plays an economic role but also has an inescapable social responsibility. It is crucial to guarantee safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces for growth, as they are a fundamental pillar for building productive and fair work environments. It is also essential to emphasize the importance of environmental awareness and respect for Indigenous resources and territories. Truly sustainable development is everyone's responsibility.”
The Netherlands is known worldwide for its commitment to equal rights. Because everyone has the right to be themselves. No matter who you are or who you love.
Equal rights are important for the development of safe societies, where people live in peace. Therefore, a country's income increases if men and women receive equal wages. Furthermore, equality ensures less conflict and greater stability. Therefore, equal rights for all people around the world are also important to the Netherlands.
